A men’s health clinic in the North East has been prescribed a Viagra treatment after its sale.
“They have a prescription, but I thought they’d be out of stock,” the clinic manager told the Daily Mail newspaper.
The drug, which contains sildenafil, is sold over-the-counter at Boots as the first of its kind, helping men to feel more confident in their sexual performance.

The spokesman added: “We’re pleased to have received the prescription. We’ve had two occasions where the pharmacist gave us a prescription for Viagra. We were happy to be able to sell Viagra for a price we think we can buy.”
Viagra was initially available on prescription in Britain between 1998 and 2006. But it was withdrawn from the market in 2010 because of side effects.
A spokesman for the drug company Pfizer said: “We are not aware of any recent cases of the safety of this medication being affected.
“We do not advise patients to take this medicine on a regular basis.”
